In 2009, ThinkGeek stuff for smart masses, continued their tradition of yearly April Fools' Day products by "offering" a variety of hilarious products, which fooled many an eager and equally disappointed customer. One of their items attracted a particularly large number of admirers, and therefore turned their false product prank -- into a reality.

Their Tauntaun sleeping bag has become a huge hit! Inspired by scenes from the frozen world of Hoth in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, satisfied customers can experience firsthand the intestinal innards of those smelly Tauntauns :) I immediately fell in love with this "not-intended-for-camping" sleeping bag and my awesome sisters added this wonderful piece to my Star Wars collection. It now resides in our home as a very classy "throw pillow."

Check out some of the amazing customer action shots of their recreations of the fantastical snowy landscape of Hoth. Here is one posted on the ThinkGeek website, featuring yours truly!

You can find a list of the "products" that are released yearly on April Fools' Day through ThinkGeek here. I cannot help but wish that all, or at the very least most, of these items became a reality. And this year is no exception.

Remember the classic Milton Bradly game "Hungry Hungry Hippos"? I sure do! And so do those at ThinkGeek. One of the ThinkGeek April Fools' Day "products" this year is an ode to the classic game, with a new school twist: Electronic Hungry Hungry Hippos for iPad. How would this work, you ask? Take a look...

I truly hope that this prank becomes a reality in the near future! Until then, I will be satisfied by these fantastic hungry hippo finds on Etsy.
